Help Us Empower Women Through Writing

At Women Like Me, we believe in the transformative power of storytelling. Our mission is to break down financial barriers, allowing women from all walks of life to write and share their personal stories. Through this process, they heal, uplift themselves, and inspire others. As many of our writers beautifully say, "If I can help even one woman, it is worth it."

Our Women Like Me founder aims to fund the entire program through book sales, ensuring no woman is left behind. Unfortunately, book sales are only part of what it costs to keep the program continuing for the next group of writers. We need your support to keep this vital work going.

Our incredible group of women in Kenya has written three books, with 100% of the proceeds from their sales going directly to them. These women, many of whom are widowed and living in extreme poverty, use the money to buy food and clothing and pay for school fees. Your invaluable donations help us cover book production costs. This allows these 26 women to have a sense of pride and the ability to support their families. Your support is the lifeline that keeps them going.

By donating, you are not just helping to keep our program running; you are empowering women to lift themselves up, share their life lessons, and create a ripple effect of positive change. Your contribution is a catalyst for their empowerment and transformation.

Join us in this mission. Your generosity makes a world of difference. Together, we can ensure that every woman has the chance to tell her story, heal, and inspire others. Thank you for being so supportive.

You can donate here if you would like to keep our program free for all writers.

"Thank you, Julie, for providing this platform for women to tell their stories and accept that what they did or went through mattered and can help others !!" Gale Tracey

"I am so grateful for this opportunity to bring my personal story out from the darkness within and shine some light on it. Julie was instrumental in helping me to figure out what it is that I wanted to say by sharing my story. I've always had the hopes of helping others, and she provided a way to do so. Thank you Julie for bringing this together for us all." Jennifer Robertson

"Having Julie as a mentor, cheerleader and now, a friend, I would like to know that more women would be willing to take this chance, to not be afraid and to know that anything is possible. Julie knew I could write and with her encouragement, I wrote about my life and felt stronger as I went along. Now I am seeking out other brave women to find Julie and write their stories. How lucky am I?" Michelle Voyageur

"Julie was an amazing guide & mentor into the world of authors & their stories. She keeps you focused. She gently pushes you and brings out the best author in you and encourages you throughout the whole process. And although this was all new to me ~ I never felt alone doing it, Julie made sure I knew she would be there anytime I needed her and feeling that safety of knowing her door is always open allowed me the freedom of taking the dive into becoming an author! A best selling author, no less!" Rhonda Devlin-Gilbert

"Julie is an amazing human! She has given so many the chance to tell their stories and the opportunity to heal. Everything she does comes from her heart and the world needs more like her." Brenda-Lee Huot-Hunter

"I wanted to write my story in WLM because i know it will inspire woman who face similar life situations. I wanted to write in hopes that women like me keep going and stay resilient like myself. To believe in themselves and to know that they are not alone. But also to find healing and acceptance in my own life." Katelin Stanvick

"I found the whole process very healing.. going back and writing out my story and then reading it back was overwhelming and just felt like I released so many different emotions. I am so thankful to Julie and her support thru this process." Roxanne Naistus

"There were times I became a little over whelmed with revisiting my past but I reached out To my support and was able to work through it." Kari Baxter

"It was interesting to go through this experience and revisit it from a new place. I felt it was helping me release some of my past in a positive way and in that way it was rewarding. I enjoy writing and this angle of my story came to me in a natural way probably since I have been processing this part of my life for the last years with a new consciousness." Thorey Sigthorsdottir

"I’ve always felt that if one person could be helped it would be worth it. I may or may not know about anyone that it helps but that’s ok its not for me it’s for them that I did this. Having the opportunity to share and be vulnerable has been a huge learning experience and one more step in my journey." Kelly Cross
